2610 - EVALUATION OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM

It will be Board policy to require an evaluation of instructional programs including the following: Philosophy of education, and educational goals, curriculum and instruction, participation of disabled students in competency based education programs, educational options, experimental programs. This evaluation of the curriculum and other aspects of the educational program of a school shall be directed by the principal, who shall report to the Superintendent. It shall be the responsibility of the Superintendent to report periodically to the Board of Education on the progress the District is making toward the attainment of its educational goals.

The Board reserves the right to review each such test and to approve those which serve a legitimate purpose without infringing upon the personal rights of the students or their parents.

Parents may obtain an explanation of the results of their child's test from qualified school personnel.

The Superintendent may periodically recommend improvements in the program and staff based upon the evaluation of the District's program.

The Board will cooperate with the Superintendent of Public Instruction in which State-wide assessment programs as are conducted pursuant to law and rules of the State Board of Education.
