2610.01 - EVALUATION OF COMPETENCY-BASED PROGRAM

We, the School Board of the Ottawa-Glandorf Local School District hereby resolve that the following policies shall govern the use of assessment results for instruction, evaluation, intervention, guidance, and promotion decisions regarding the competency based education program:

	A.	The "Elementary and Secondary Schools Minimum Standards" as enacted September, 1983, will be followed in all matters pertaining to the competency based education program.
	B.	The State-approved Putnam County Course of Study shall provide the basis for those policies, procedures, and all phases of the competency based education program of the Ottawa-Glandorf Local School District.
	C.	Results of any and all assessments relating to the minimum competency program will not be used as sole indicators regarding decisions on promotion or retention of any student.
	D.	Certain disabled students may be deemed exempt from all or part of the minimum competency program. Any such exemption designations shall be included as a written part of each disabled student's Individual Educational Program (I.E.P).
	E.	Appropriate and reasonable intervention shall be provided for those persons or groups which do not successfully complete the minimum competencies as set forth in the Course of Study.
