It is the purpose of this policy to provide an alternative to out-of-school suspension. The availability of these options is dependent upon the financial ability of the Board of Education to support such a program.

In-school suspension/In-school restriction will only be offered at the discretion of the principal for offenses found in the Student Code of Conduct.

In-school suspension will not be offered as an option when, in the opinion of the principal, the offense are criminal in nature.

The Superintendent is to establish administrative guidelines for the proper operation of such programs and to ensure that appropriate due-process procedures are followed as applicable.
