The Board of Education has enacted this policy because it believes it is important for a student and his/her family to confront the use of substance abuse.

Any student suspended/disciplined for violating the Substance Abuse Policy is strongly urged to undergo a substance abuse assessment administered by trained professionals as determined by the administration.

If the cost of the assessment is not covered by the parent's insurance, the Board will pay the fee up to a maximum of $55.00.

The assessment should be scheduled before the student can return to school. The assessment report will become a part of the student's confidential record. This report can be eliminated upon graduation.
