6220 - BUDGET PREPARATION
The District's operation and educational plan is reflected in its budgets. Each year, the Board of Education will cause to have prepared and then review and approve the following Fund budgets:
| A. | General Fund | ||
| B. | Building and Site | ||
| C. | Debt Retirement Fund | ||
| D. | Food Service Fund (Special Purpose Fund) | ||
| E. | Athletic Fund (Special Purpose Fund) | ||
| F. | Student Service Fund (Trust and Agency Fund) |
Each budget shall be designed to carry out District operations in a thorough and efficient manner, maintain District facilities properly, and honor continuing obligations of the Board.
A proposed budget requires the critical analysis of every member of the Board prior to approval; once adopted, the budget deserves the support of all members of the Board regardless of their position before its adoption.
In order to allow adequate time for the preparation and review of the proposed General Fund budget, the Board directs the Superintendent to present the budgets to the Board by June 1st along with all available information associated with the Budget.
When presented to the Board for review and/or adoption, the General Fund budget shall include:
| A. | the number of teaching staff members and all other employees for the current and the ensuing year; | ||
| B. | the proposed expenditure and revenue in each financial category for the ensuing year; | ||
| C. | the anticipated expenditure and revenue in each financial category for the ensuing year; | ||
| D. | the actual expenditure and the approved budget in each financial category for the previous year; | ||
| E. | an explanation of each item of expense proposed for the ensuing year; | ||
| F. | an estimate of the student enrollment by grades for the current and ensuing year; | ||
| G. | the sources and amounts of anticipated revenues; | ||
| H. | the amount of fund equity anticipated at the end of the current year; | ||
| I. | an appropriations resolution. |
