The School Board recognizes the value to the District to obtain the services of quality staff members who may not be available on a full-time basis but wish to offer their knowledge and skills part-time through a job-sharing process in accordance with the negotiated agreement.

Half-time positions may be approved in which two (2) currently employed staff members will be allowed to share one (1) full-time position. Indiana State Law requires sixty (60) days for a half year service credit or 120 days for full year service credit. Service credit applies toward advancement on the salary schedule and for years of service credit by the Indiana State Teacher Retirement Fund.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to create a job-sharing program provided it does not impact adversely on the District or any current staff member.
