5320.01 - INOCULATION OF STUDENTS

Immunization against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, rubeola, rubella, and mumps, hepatitis B, varicella, haemophilus influenza type b is required for each student unless the parent(s) files an objection. All kindergarten students are required to receive Hepatitis B and varicella (chicken pox) immunizations. The Board also requires tuberculosis examinations incompliance with law.

Students eligible for kindergarten and students new to the District must present written evidence of similar immunizations, or written evidence to indicate that they are in the process of receiving immunizations, to be completed no later than the day of entrance. Students entering the seventh grade must present evidence of an MMR booster. Students failing to complete immunizations within fourteen (14) days after entering are not permitted to return to school.

Any student considered out of compliance with the state of Ohio immunization requirements must have a written exemption, stating medical or religious objection, on file.
