Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.


The Superintendent shall establish a District Critical Incident Response Team (DCIRT). The DCIRT is responsible for assisting schools with emergencies/critical incidents as needed and coordinate District resources. The Superintendent shall develop and update as needed a Critical Incident Response Plan (CIRP)/Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) for all schools. The DCIRT, will be responsible for providing updates to the plan and training for school site administrators. Pursuant to Florida statutes, the CIRP/EOP should be confidential and exempt from public record.
