Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.


The District's operation and educational plan is reflected in its budget. The financial activities of the District shall be carried out according to the budget that is recommended by the Superintendent and adopted by the Board.

The budget shall be prepared in the form recommended by the State Department of Education. Adjustments to the original budget shall be made according to Board policies and F.A.C. 6A-1.006.

The Superintendent shall present the budget for review and adoption in accordance with the Truth in Millage (TRIM) calendar. After approval by the Board, the budget shall be submitted to the State Department of Education.

The District shall require full and open public disclosure of its financial activities.
