Bylaws & Policies
Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.

The Superintendent may suspend employees in disciplinary action other than termination in order to facilitate personnel management, to maintain an orderly and productive work environment, to avoid public embarrassment to employees, and to eliminate minor disciplinary action from the Board's agenda. The suspension shall be without pay, and shall not exceed five (5) days.

A.An employee who is suspended under this policy shall be granted all due process rights accorded by Florida law and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

B.The Superintendent shall notify the Board of actions taken.

C.This authority is in addition to that provided by Florida law. It shall not be construed to limit the Superintendent's statutory powers.
