The School Board of Miami-Dade County
Bylaws & Policies
Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.

A student teacher is a teacher trainee, an observer, or an intern. The placement of such student teachers in the schools is encouraged. The Superintendent and staff shall determine the number of trainees that shall be placed in the schools at any one time. No school or teacher should be over-burdened.

The college/university making the assignment shall provide supervision in a manner suitable to the Superintendent.

If at any time the quality of teaching is judged to be inferior or the student teacher is disruptive to the on-going program, the Superintendent may request withdrawal of that person from the program.

The Superintendent may terminate the Districtís partnership with a college or university teacher preparation program if one or more aspect of the program is not meeting District expectations.
