The School Board of Miami-Dade County
Bylaws & Policies
Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.

The School Board elects to augment the educational program of disadvantaged students through the use of Federal funds, in accordance with the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as reauthorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015.

The ESEA is based on four (4) basic principles: stronger accountability for results, increased flexibility and local control, expanded options for parents, and an emphasis on proven educational methods.

Parents of participating students are encouraged to be involved in programs, activities, and procedures that are planned and implemented to support children's academic growth.
