Bylaws & Policies
Unless a specific policy has been amended and the date the policy was revised is noted at the bottom of that policy, the Bylaws and Policies of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were adopted on May 11, 2011 and were in effect beginning July 1, 2011.


The Superintendent shall submit written recommendations to the School Board for positions to be filled and minimum qualifications for these positions.

The Board shall approve the broad purpose and function of the position according to State laws and regulations and a statement of job requirements as recommended by the Superintendent. The Superintendent shall write, or cause to be written, a job description for the position.

The Superintendent shall maintain a comprehensive, coordinated set of job descriptions for all such positions in order to promote efficiency and economy in the staff's operations.
