The Board of Education recognizes the need for insurance coverage for injuries to students caused by accidents occurring in the course of attendance at District programs. Therefore, at the beginning of each school year, the Board shall offer parents the opportunity to participate in group accident insurance at the expense of the parents.

A signed statement of insurance coverage on the part of the student's parent or guardian shall be a prerequisite for student registration in any District activity having a potential for personal injury.

The Superintendent shall recommend suitable and qualified insurance carriers and notify all parents of their availability.
