5111 - ELIGIBILITY OF RESIDENT/NONRESIDENT STUDENTS

The Board of Education establishes the following residency policy for determining eligibility to participate in the programs offered by this District.

The Board will educate, tuition-free, only those students who are, or whose parents are, legal residents of the District's constituent local school districts.

Nonresident students may be accepted into the I.S.D. operated programs provided by this District on a tuition or special fee basis.

Students, residing in the District but not living with their parents, guardian, or person who qualifies in place of the parent, shall be ineligible to participate in District programs unless said students can be considered emancipated minors by court decree and has proved the establishment of an independent residence.
