5610.02 - IN-SCHOOL RESTRICTION/IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION

It is the purpose of this policy to allow for an alternatives to suspension. The availability of these options is dependent upon the financial ability of the Board of Education to support them.

In-school restriction/in-school suspension will only be offered at the discretion of the building principal for offenses found in the Student Code of Conduct/Student Discipline Code.

The Superintendent is to establish administrative guidelines for the proper operation of such programs. As long as the in-school disciplinary alternatives are served entirely in the school setting, they will not require any hearing or appeal rights. Parental notification of such action will be required.
