5540 - THE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY AGENCIES
The Board of Education is committed to protect students and also recognizes its responsibility to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and the Department of Social Services.
When such agencies request permission to question a student at school, the building administrator shall ensure that the agency has informed the parents and will include them in the conference, when appropriate.
Whenever it has been determined that an agency has a legitimate purpose in interrogating a student within the confines of the District, the building administrator or representative shall be present throughout the proceedings to ensure the rights of the student.
When an agency requests permission to remove a student, the building administrator shall notify the Director of Student Services and the parents.
