2340.01 - PUBLIC CONDUCT - EXTRA-CURRICULAR

The policy of the McComb Board of Education and administration of the District is to welcome the public to our extra-curricular activities which are open to the public. We do feel, however, that when attending school activities, individuals, regardless of age, should conduct themselves in an acceptable manner which is not disruptive to an orderly atmosphere. Therefore, in the event that an individual is displaying disorderly conduct, or acting in a manner which is disruptive to an orderly atmosphere, the individual will be asked to leave the school premises by any staff member of the District.

In the event that the individual refuses, the Superintendent or principal should be notified at once to evaluate the situation and decide what action should be taken. If the situation warrants legal authority (usually the police on duty) can be used to remove the individual from school property by whatever means necessary to restore order. The Superintendent or principal can then, if s/he deems necessary, prohibit the individual from attending a specific or all future school functions which are open to the public. This can be for a specific stated time or permanent expulsion from such activities.

The above rule also pertains to students attending the McComb School System or students attending a McComb school activity who are enrolled in another school system.
