The Board of Education encourages all staff members to improve their skills through advanced training and, as an inducement thereto, provides extra compensation for those who do so successfully.

As credits are earned by members of the professional staff, adjustments on the salary schedule will be made upon certification by the Superintendent of Schools to the Treasurer of the Board of Education who automatically place them on the proper bracket on the salary schedules. Adjustments will be made upon written evidence of additional credits earned, if presented by September 1st of each school year.

Teachers who expect to receive salary increases from training beyond the Bachelor's Degree shall take such training on the graduate level leading to the Master's Degree with the following exceptions. Either undergraduate or graduate hours will be acceptable for salary credit in the Column "BA+10 and MA+10". All academic hours must be earned from an approved college or university. These hours must be earned after the Bachelor's or Master's Degree has been granted.
