2623.03 - PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS WITH DISABLING CONDITIONSIN NINTH GRADE PROFICIENCY TESTING

No student with a disabling condition shall be required to take or be prohibited from taking the ninth grade proficiency tests.

The determination that an individual disabled student is exempted can be made using the following procedures:

	A.	Parents will be involved in the decision to exempt individual students with disabilities from proficiency testing.
	B.	Parents involvement can be accomplished in a number of ways including the following:

		1.	Parent conferences,
		2.	I.E.P. meetings,
		3.	Written communication to parents requesting their agreement or disagreement with the decision to exempt.

Documentation of the decision to exempt or not exempt a student with a disability will be kept on file.
