1340.01 - REEMPLOYMENT OR NONREEMPLOYMENT OF TREASURER
The Board of Education has an obligation to the citizens of this District to employ the professional leadership best trained and equipped to meet the educational needs of their children. It shall meet that obligation by retaining only the best qualified person as Treasurer for this District.
If the services of the Treasurer are found on the basis of one (1) or more evaluations and the above stated consideration to be satisfactory to the Board, then the Board shall re-employ the Treasurer at any special or regular meeting beginning on the first (1st) day of January preceding the year the Treasurer's contract of employment expires and ending on the first (1st) day of March on the year the contract expires. In connection with the re-employment of the Treasurer, the Board shall execute a written contract of employment with the Treasurer for a term not to exceed five (5) years, beginning the first (1st) day of August immediately following the expiration of the Treasurer's current term of employment and ending the thirty-first (31st day of July.
If the services of the Treasurer are found on the basis of one (1) or more prior evaluations to be unsatisfactory to the Board, s/he shall be notified by the Board and given an opportunity to correct the conditions.
If his/her services continue to be unsatisfactory, the Treasurer shall be notified in writing by the Board, of their intent, no later than the first (1st) day of March of the expiration year of his/her contract, that his/her services will not be renewed. Any termination of a Treasurer's contract shall be in accordance with Sections 3313.22(E) and 3319.16 of the revised code.
At the expiration of the Treasurer's current term of employment, the Treasurer is deemed re-employed for a term on one year at the same salary plus any increments that the Board may authorize, unless the Board, on or before the first (1st) day of March of the year in which the contract of employment expires, either re-employs or chooses not to re-employ the Treasurer in accordance with the provisions contained herein.
