4421 - BENEFITS
Benefits for contracted full-time noncertified employees employed thirty (30) hours or more per week, shall be the same as provided certified employees. Part-time contracted employees are entitled to one-half the amount of term life insurance received by full-time employees. Part-time employees may subscribe to the hospital-surgical-major medical program, but shall pay the full group rate premium for that program. (R.C. 9.90, 3313.202, 3917.01)
Effective December 1, 2000, employees that are employed in two (2) separate job classifications and at least one (1) of the positions is not a regular contracted position of thirty (30) hours per week or more are not entitled to Board paid medical and dental insurance benefits.
Employees that were employed prior to December 1, 2000, in two (2) regular contracted positions involving two (2) job classifications and were receiving Board paid medical and dental insurance benefits will be grandfathered for the same benefits they were receiving as of November 30, 2000. If the grandfathered employee fails to continue in the two (2) positions or falls below the minimum of thirty (30) hours per week of contracted employment, the medical and dental benefits will be discontinued. The Board share of coverage may change if similar changes are made for certified employees.
In addition, bus drivers that were receiving medical and dental Board paid insurance benefits effective at the conclusion of the 1999-2000 contract year will be grandfathered for their present coverage of benefits if, in fact, their regular bus driving hours fall below the thirty (30) hour per week minimum due to District initiated changes in their routes.
