8450A - CONTROL OF A PANDEMIC FLU EVENT

The Board of Education recognizes that sanitation and isolation are important factors in the control of influenza or other infections spread via casual contact as defined by the Michigan Department of Community/Public Health. In order to protect the health and safety of all students and staff, the Superintendent or designee will follow guidelines set forth by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) to ensure that stakeholders have the information needed to control the infection to the extent possible. Implementation steps shall include preparation, education, communication, prevention, data collection, and follow-up.

The Superintendent shall use the infection control procedures as defined by the Federal CDC.
