6150 - TUITION INCOME

It is the policy of the Board of Education to assess tuition charges for each student attending school in this District on a tuition basis in a manner that is fair and equitable and in line with statute.

Tuition may be assessed only for those students whose attendance has been approved by the Board.

It shall be the responsibility of the Treasurer to assess the tuition for approved students at a rate established by the State Department of Education.

Tuition rates shall be computed annually in accordance with law. Notice of tuition rates shall be given prior to the start of the school year in which they will be charged.

Tuition billings will be made in advance of the billing period (quarterly would be the maximum billing period).

When payment from a board of education is more than sixty (60) days overdue, services will be terminated.

When payment of tuition by a parent or guardian is more than one (1) month overdue, the attendance of a nonresident student shall be unauthorized, and services will be terminated.

The monthly tuition charge shall be calculated by dividing the annual tuition rate by nine (9). A student enrolling during a month will be charged a prorated year.
