4413 - EXTRA-TIME

It is the intention of the Board of Education to compensate classified employees for extra-time work when such is previously approved and properly worked.

No extra-time shall be worked or paid without the prior approval of the Superintendent.

Compensation for extra-time shall be monetary or compensatory time off.

Monetary compensation shall be at the rate of 1 1/2 times annual wages for work in excess of forty (40) hours per week.

Compensatory time off will be on the basis of 1 1/2 hours for each 1 hour of extra-time worked.

Time off for any purpose will not be included when computing extra-time.

Time worked on a Sunday or a holiday shall be compensated at 1 1/2 times regular hourly pay.

A request for the use of compensatory time shall be submitted to the employee's supervisor and must be approved by Superintendent. An employee will be permitted the use of accrued compensatory time within a reasonable time of his/her request for time off, provided the requested time off does not unduly disrupt the operations of the School District.

The Treasurer is directed to make and maintain such records regarding employees' hours and wages as may be required by law.
