The Board of Education believes that being a witness is an important civic responsibility. When professional staff members are called to be witnesses, the Board will ensure against the loss of pay in accordance with the terms of the negotiated agreements.

A professional staff member who is absent in response to a subpoena in a case in court shall have deducted from his/her salary the amount of any witness fee or other compensation, exclusive of any reimbursement paid specifically for expenses incurred by reason of such subpoena. A certificate signed by the professional staff member and stating the amount of such fee or other compensation, if any, must be submitted by the professional staff member to the Treasurer.
