3130 - ASSIGNMENT AND TRANSFER
The Board of Education believes that the appropriate placement of qualified and competent staff is essential to the successful functioning of the District.
The Superintendent by law is empowered to make all professional personnel assignments and transfers.
| A. | Teaching assignments are for a period of one (1) year and may be changed at the discretion of the Superintendent, after consultation with the teachers involved. | ||
| B. | No teacher will be assigned any teaching duties for which s/he is not certified. If possible, teachers should be assigned in major fields of preparation. | ||
| C. | If a teacher desires a change in curriculum or grade, the request shall be submitted to the principal and the Superintendent in writing by April 1. Consideration will be given to abilities, priority, and seniority. | ||
| D. | All assignments and transfers, whether of classroom, grade or subjects taught, the needs of the students, the general welfare of the school and the personal desires of the teacher shall be considered. |
