2433 - CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES DISTRICT SPONSORED
Along with interscholastic athletics, the Board of Education believes that the District's co-curricular programs should include intramural athletics and other types of activities which contribute to the growth and development of students but are not directly related to the District's curriculum.
One outcome of such co-curricular activities should be that students learn to use leisure time productively.
District-Approved Co-Curricular Activities
Each year, the Board will consider approval of co-curricular activities recommended by the Superintendent. It may provide facilities and equipment, when and as appropriate, and arrange for faculty advisors to supervise the planning and conduct of the activities.
The Superintendent shall develop and implement administrative guidelines to ensure that the planning, conduct, and evaluation of all co-curricular activities are in compliance with equal opportunity laws, Board policies, and District guidelines.
Students are to be informed of all co-curricular activities and the requirements for participation. No student shall be denied the opportunity to participate because of the financial inability to pay necessary participation fees.
Certificated staff members may be employed as advisors by means of a supplemental contract based on the recommendation of the Superintendent and approval by the Board.
