4415 - SEVERANCE PAY
In accordance with statute, all employees who have been employed by the LCESC a minimum of five (5) years, who present evidence of retirement from active service with the County Governing Board shall be granted severance pay for their accrued by unused sick leave days.
The Board authorizes the payment to a retiring employee of the Lake County Educational Service Center Board of his/her unused sick leave days to a maximum of twenty-five percent (25%) of up to 120 days of accumulated and unused sick leave for a maximum of thirty (30) severance days for employees working 183 days.
For purposes of this policy "retirement" means retirement under School Employees Retirement System and does not include disability retirement.
The Superintendent will develop Administrative Guidelines to determine the payment schedule for any severance pay amount to an employee.
