In order to comply with State law, the Board of Education shall adopt a core curriculum which is to be based on the Michigan Curriculum Framework, Michigan Grad Level Expectations, and/or High School Content Expectations, as developed and modified by the State Board of Education.

The Superintendent shall establish a process or procedure for using the State documents as a framework, identifying the viable curriculum (most significant enduring understandings) developing appropriate rubrics to communicate expectations, implement common assessments, collect student data, and provide interventions to ensure that all students have the opportunity to demonstrate successful mastery of the viable curriculum.

The Superintendentís guidelines shall provide for an explanation of the means by which the core curriculum will be implemented and evaluated.

The administrative guidelines shall also assure each student a fair opportunity to achieve the academic outcomes established for the core curriculum.
