All support staff members who present evidence of retirement from active service with the School Board shall be granted severance pay for their accrued but unused sick leave days and years of service.

The Board authorizes the payment of a retiring support staff member of his/her unused sick leave days and service time under the conditions established in the "Classified Employees Handbook."

For purposes of this policy, "retirement" means retirement under the Public Employees Retirement Fund (P.E.R.F).
