5451A - RECOGNITION OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

Each principal, in collaboration with appropriate staff, is to prepare a list of achievements by students in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities that will qualify the student for special recognition by the school.

Each school may submit to the Superintendent at any time, recommendations that the Board provide special recognition to any student or group of students who demonstrate unusual accomplishment.

Honor Rolls

Each school shall establish an honor roll to publicly recognize high academic achievement. Standards for selection to the honor roll are the responsibility of the guidance department of each school.

The honor roll lists are to be published in school and community newspapers when possible.
