Students who participate in the curricular program in grades K-12 in Jennings County Schools will be counted as enrolled students in the school district's ADM report. The results of ISTEP+ assessment subject areas will be placed in the student's cumulative record of his/her primary attendance. It will be the student's school of primary attendance that will be responsible for overseeing and administering the ISTEP+ assessments.

Home schooled, private or parochial school students who enroll in the Jennings County School District on an abbreviated schedule will be placed in a grade level or schedule based primarily upon chronological age. If testing or assessment screening is necessary, the principal has the authority to reassign the student according to age, progress, and other educational factors. The testing/assessment screening may involve a review of the student's home education plan, private or parochial curriculum outline, a list of all persons who conducted the home school, private, or parochial educational coursework, and a list of all instructional materials used. This information must be provided to the building principal prior to attending classes.

Home schooled, private or parochial school students who wish to participate in extra-curricular sports or activities must be enrolled in at least six (6) full credit subjects at Jennings County High School in order to be eligible to participate. To be eligible, students must receive passing grades in at least six (6) JCHS full credit subjects.

Home schooled, private or parochial school students who wish to participate in extra-curricular sports or activities not offered at their school must be enrolled in and pass at least one (1) full credit subject in order to be eligible to participate. To be eligible, middle school students must receive passing grades in at least six (6) full credit subjects from their accredited school and/or Jennings County Middle School. In the event the school is not accredited by the State of Indiana, then the full credit subjects to be used for eligibility will be reviewed by a committee. The committee will consist of the Principal, the Administrative Assistant for Curriculum and Instruction, and the Superintendent. This committee will determine if the five (5) remaining full credit subjects from the non-accredited school will be accepted to determine eligibility. The committee will use local and State academic standards in assessing the rigor of the subjects. Standardized assessments will also be used to confirm and assess student eligibility for middle school students from non-accredited schools.

Students enrolled in curricular classes on an abbreviated schedule may participate in after school curricular activities in which participation is a requirement for the class(s). Students may be transported to and from school by Jennings County Schools provided that such transportation is part of an existing route. The school district is not responsible for the transportation of part-time home schooled, private or parochial school students other than on existing route schedules.

A student's high school transcript will list separately courses taken at Jennings County High School and courses taken elsewhere. Grade point calculations will be made based on courses completed at Jennings County High School or other accredited school.

In order to graduate from Jennings County High School, the student must complete all courses required by the school district, the State of Indiana, and pass the Indiana Graduation Qualifying Examination. The student must also be enrolled full time at Jennings County High School for the senior year.
