3411 - PLACEMENT ON SALARY SCHEDULE
The Board of Education retains the authority to specify the salary of new positions and to determine the credit to be awarded for placement on the District's salary schedule, in accordance with any applicable terms in the negotiated agreement.
The Superintendent shall arrange credit for past service of each new staff member for proper placement on the salary schedule on the following basis:
| A. | Increments | ||
| For salary schedule purposes, ninety (90) teaching days will constitute one-half (1/2) year of experience and 120 teaching days a full year. Salary increments will be credited of a teacher for one-half (1/2) or full year only. | |||
| B. | Military Credit | ||
| Teachers will be credited with experience on the salary schedule for military service experience up to five (5) years inclusive. | |||
| C. | Monetary Supplements | ||
| Monetary supplements may not be granted to a teacher for the purpose of retaining an individual that would be extremely difficult to replace, or for any other purpose akin to a premium pay for positions difficult to fill. | |||
| Teachers will be credited with experience on the salary schedule per the negotiated agreement. | |||
| D. | National Board Certification | ||
| Teachers who have received National Board Certification will receive an additional stipend of $1000.00 per year. |
Credit will not be given for substitute teaching except as required by Policy 3120.04 or State law.
If the District's salary schedule exceeds the State minimum, each new staff member shall be credited with a minimum five (5) year service period, if they have at least five (5) years of experience.
