The Board of Education shall have discretion to establish and maintain group health plans for the benefit of eligible employees. These group health plans may provide health benefits through insurance or otherwise as permitted by law.

The Board, in accordance with the Employee Blood Donation Leave Act, supports a professional staff member’s commitment to donate blood during the instructional day when approved by the building principal. A professional staff member may receive this approval every fifty-six (56) days in accordance with applicable medical standards.

Salaries and fringe benefits for all support staff members not covered by the terms of a currently-valid negotiated, collectively-bargained agreement shall be not less than those provided in the master agreement with the Herrin Education Association.
