5516 - BEHAVIOR DEGRADING TO HUMAN DIGNITY PROHIBITED

The School Board is committed to providing a positive learning and working environment and communicating its commitment to the values of a democratic society to all students and employees.

An integral part of this commitment is the recognition that the District is becoming increasingly multi-cultural, that we value and respect the diverse make-up of the school community and that we seek equal education and employment opportunities for all students and employees.

To this end, the School District will not tolerate behavior by students or employees toward persons based in whole or in part on sex, race, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability which creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive school environment.

Students violating this policy will be disciplined in accordance with applicable School Board policies and student handbooks.

Employees violating this policy will be disciplined in accordance with applicable administrative rules and collective bargaining agreements.
