2261.01 - PARENT PARTICIPATION IN TITLE I PROGRAMS

The most successful education of children depends on effective parent involvement. Although parents are diverse in cultural backgrounds and family structures vary widely, they share the school’s commitment to the educational success of their children. Title I programming serves as a supplemental program designed to heighten family involvement.

An annual Parent Advisory Committee meeting will be held by the school corporation to review and/or revise the corporation’s Title I Parental Involvement Policy. School level personnel will be provided training prior to the schools’ Annual Title I Meetings to ensure parental involvement policies are reviewed and/or revised annually. An annual survey of the Title I Parental Involvement Policies and Practices will occur to ensure the corporation’s parental involvement levels are maximized.

Greater Clark County Schools recognizes the value of home-school partnerships and supports efforts to create an environment that is conducive to meaningful participation by parents. Communication with parents will, to the extent practicable, occur in a language parents can understand. Parent requests for translation will be honored.
