2460.03 - OPERATION OF CENTRALIZED INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS

The Board acknowledges the unique educational needs among the diverse student groups in Genesee County. The Board also recognizes that the intermediate district may be the most appropriate and effective operator of certain instructional programs for students in constituent local districts. This policy serves to delineate the Board’s belief that such a role for the intermediate school district is within its mission and within it legal mandate.

The following basic policy statements apply:

 A.All such programs shall be subject to the existing policies and procedures of the Board.

 B.The Intermediate District shall serve as the employer of record for all centralized instructional programs, unless stipulated otherwise.

 C.The Intermediate District shall serve as the fiscal agent for centralized instructional programs.

 D.The Board shall receive timely and appropriate reports of the effectiveness and student impact within such programs.

 E.The intermediate district shall receive and consider requests from local districts in accordance with Public Act 25 of 1990.
