8210 - SCHOOL CALENDAR

The Board of School Trustees recognizes that the preparation of a calendar for the instructional program of the schools is necessary for orderly educational planning and for the efficient operation of the Corporation.

The total number of days when the schools will be in session for instructional purposes shall be in accordance with current state requirements, and for purposes of receiving State school aid, such days will number no fewer than 180.

Days lost due to snow, fire, epidemics, health conditions, etc. cannot be counted as a part of the minimum days of instruction for State aid and must be made up unless a waiver is obtained from the State Department of Education, or as provided for by State law.

The Superintendent shall submit to the State Department of Education the total number of actual instructional days no later than June 15th of each year.
