4111 - CREATING A POSITION

The Board of School Trustees recognizes the need to establish positions which, when filled by competent, qualified support staff, will assist the Corporation in achieving the education goals set by the Board. The Corporation employs only U.S. Citizens and others lawfully authorized to work in the United States.

The Superintendent shall verify all new employees' and substitutes right to work in the United States according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.

The Board reserves the right to:

 A.fix the compensation and prescribe the duties to be performed by all support staff;

 B.to create new positions.

In the exercise of its authority to create new positions, the Board shall give primary consideration to the special needs of the Corporation and the operational services of the Corporation.

The Board may create a new position or increase the number of support staff in an existing position.

The Board shall, upon the advice of the Superintendent of Schools consider the advisability of creating a new support position or of increasing the number of support staff in an existing position.
