3120.20 - PARTNER PROGRAM

Prior approval from building level administrators of those buildings affected and the central office must be obtain.

Faculty members switching positions must be properly certified for the position/subject they intend to teach.

A faculty member should find a partner to switch positions with prior to May 1st of the year preceding the school year in which the switch is to take place. The request for this switch is to be submitted in written form to the Superintendent of Schools and should be properly signed by both the instructors and the administrators involved.

If a faculty member would like to switch positions, but does not have a partner identified, s/he may make written request to the central office and the central office shall post a notice of the request throughout each building to see if there is another partner who may be interested in the switch. All such requests for central office help should be in written form and submitted prior to April 1st of the year preceding the school year in which the switch is to take place.

The switch is for one (1) year only and does not affect the tenure status of either of the faculty members. The two (2) faculty members involved in the switch shall return to the same position and the same building from which they were assigned prior to the switch subject to student enrollment change and reduction in force requirements.

A permanent change in assignment may be requested by any faculty member through regular administrative procedures. The purpose and intent of this policy is to allow faculty members the opportunity of trying different assignments and different locations within the Corporation without the "fear" of the new assignment becoming a permanent position.

The building principal shall not approve so many switching assignments in any one (1) year so as to adversely affect the smooth running of the operation of the school.

It is recommended that elementary teachers not switch positions that would require the same children to have the same teacher for two (2) years in a row.
