2230 - CURRICULUM GUIDES

The Board of School Trustees recognizes that there may be a need from time to time to augment one or more segments of the course of study with a guide in order to better accomplish learning results with students.

As appropriate to the course of study, each guide shall contain:

 A.the intended learning outcome(s), defined in terms of how the learning is applied;

 B.knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed to achieve those outcomes;

 C.appropriate materials and resources;

 D.suggested learning activities and methods of instruction, if appropriate;

 E.a list of supplemental materials for the guidance of teachers.

The Superintendent shall be responsible for the preparation of course guides and shall establish administrative guidelines related to their preparation.

All new course guides and revisions of existing guides shall be submitted to the Board for approval.

Copies of all current course guides shall be kept on file in the office of the Superintendent.
