9555 - PARTNERSHIPS WITH BUSINESS

The Board of Education is aware that education is critically important to increasing the nation's productivity and future well-being, and that combined use of the talents and resources of business and education will enhance desirable outcomes and accomplishments for both. It also recognizes that if students are to receive the type of education and training required to function effectively in the future, schools of the District must operate as an integral part of the economic community.

The Superintendent is therefore authorized to actively seek partnerships between the District and the business community, not only between individual companies and the schools but also between consortia involving several companies and the District, for the purpose of creating opportunities for students and staff to share new strategies and technologies and for offering the knowledge and skill of District personnel toward creating more effective continuing education for employees and members of the community.
