It is the policy of the Board of Education to approve sponsorship of functional occupational projects as a part of the instruction related to occupations being taught.

For purposes of this policy a "functional occupational project" is any endeavor or process which produces a salable product or service while it is being used in the process of instructing students.

Careful consideration shall be given to each project to ensure that the production of the product or the service rendered is of educational benefit to the student(s) and does not compete with local community businesses.

Functional occupational projects may be accepted by the teacher with the approval of the principal.

Patrons shall be charged only for the actual cost(s) of materials used in completing such projects.
