7530 - LENDING OF DISTRICT-OWNED EQUIPMENT
The Board of Education believes that District-owned equipment is a valuable resource which may be loaned for community use under certain conditions only, provided that such use does not infringe on the original and necessary purpose of the equipment or interfere with the educational program of the District.
The District may lend specific items of equipment to responsible persons or organizations provided that the user files a written request to borrow those item(s) which is approved by the supervisor who has custody of the equipment and also by the Superintendent.
The user of borrowed District-owned equipment shall be responsible for its safe return and shall agree in writing to be fully liable for any loss or damage to the equipment during the period of its use.
The user may be required to provide insurance coverage for loss or damage to any District-owned equipment in his/her care or custody.
