The Board of Education believes that attendance at school take precedence over nonschool-related employment.

If any student finds it necessary to work while attending school and appears to be having difficulty achieving and maintaining average grades, s/he shall be offered counseling and assistance in seeking appropriate job opportunities and in correlating work schedules with school studies and activities. Regardless of his/her grade levels, any student who is working or is contemplating working in a nonschool-related job may request and shall receive similar counseling.

The Superintendent shall prepare guidelines which will ensure that all students known to be employed in out-of-school jobs are closely monitored by staff regarding school attendance and achievement in order to determine the effects on school performance of the student assuming out-of-school work commitments.
