2131 - EDUCATIONAL OUTCOME GOALS
The Board of Education believes that all students can learn, and are entitled to schooling which enables them to attain a durable, useful and culturally satisfying education. It is a primary goal of the Board to provide such schooling, but because educational accomplishment depends in large part upon individual effort, and parental encouragement schooling alone can not guarantee to any individual the achievement of a satisfactory degree of education. The Board therefore urges each student to strive toward attaining the highest possible level of learning of which he/she is capable.
The Board also believes that educational accomplishment is measurable, that each student should be able to demonstrate his/her level of learning at any time, and that individual levels should be commensurate with student age and capability.
The Board charges the Superintendent with the responsibility for:
| A. | the establishment of meaningful educational goals at all levels of school administration, | ||
| B. | providing opportunities through the curriculum and by other means so that each student may accomplish such goals, and | ||
| C. | providing a valid means for assessing the extent to which each goal is accomplished. |
Student achievement of educational goals represents a Board priority of the highest order, and should likewise be of the highest priority for all members of the administration, staff, and student body.
