Board President |
|
|
The President of the Board shall: |
||
|
A. |
preside at meetings of the Board; |
|
|
B. |
countersign orders legally drawn by the Secretary upon the Treasurer for money to be disbursed on behalf of the School District; |
|
|
C. |
cause an action to be prosecuted in the name of the District on the Treasurer's bond in case of a breach of a condition of the bond; |
|
|
D. |
perform other duties appropriate to the office of the President. |

Board Vice-President |
|
|
The Vice-President of the Board shall: |
||
|
A. |
preside at meetings of the Board when the President is not able to attend; |
|
|
B. |
perform other duties appropriate to the Office of Vice-President as the Board determines; |
|
|
C. |
in case of a vacancy in the office of President, succeed to the Office of President for the balance of the unexpired term. |

Board Secretary |
|
|
The Secretary of the Board shall: |
||
|
A. |
act as clerk at meetings of the Board; |
|
|
B. |
bear responsibility for the recording of the minutes of meetings, with authority to hire a recording secretary, who is not a member of the Board and who shall be compensated by the District, for attending meetings and making notes of the proceedings; |
|
|
C. |
sign the minutes of meetings, orders, resolutions, and other proceedings of the Board in proper record books; |
|
|
D. |
be the chief election officer of the District with authority to delegate election duties to a member of the administrative staff; |
|
|
E. |
prepare the annual report of the District and other reports required by the State Board; |
|
|
F. |
draw and sign orders upon the District Treasurer for money to be disbursed by the School District and each order shall be properly numbered and dated, shall specify the sources of the funds called for, the purpose for which, and the fund upon which the order is drawn; |
|
|
G. |
preserve and file copies of reports, books, papers, and other documents belonging to the Office of the Secretary or to the School District, and delivery them to a successor in office; |
|
|
H. |
perform other duties required by law or by the Board. |

Board Treasurer |
|
|
Within thirty (30) days after appointment, the Treasurer of the Board shall file with the Secretary an official bond in an amount and form determined by the Board. If, by Board resolution, the authority for directing the administration of District money rests with a District employee, that person and all persons connected with the administration of funds shall be bonded. The cost of the required surety bonds shall be paid by the District. Except as modified by the Board resolution directing the administration of District money cited above, the Treasurer shall: |

A. |
have care and custody of all monies of the School District and the Treasurer shall deposit funds of the District with a bank or banking corporation or trust company designated by the Board in the proportion and manner directed by the Board; |
|
|
B. |
pay orders of the Secretary when lawfully drawn and countersigned by the President out of money belonging to the fund upon which the orders are drawn; |
|
|
C. |
cause a record book to be kept in which money received and disbursed shall be entered, the sources from which money is received, and the person to whom and the object for which money is paid; |
|
|
D. |
present the Board at the close of the school year a written report containing a statement of money received during the year and of each disbursement made; |
|
|
E. |
perform other duties required by law or by the Board. |

Legal Counsel |
|
|
The Board may employ an attorney to represent the School District or Board in actions brought for or against the District and to render other legal services for the welfare of the School District. |

Independent Auditor |
|
|
The Board shall employ an independent auditor to: |

|
A. |
examine the balance sheet of the District at the close of its fiscal year and the related statements of transactions in the various funds for the fiscal year then ended; |
|
|
B. |
conduct such examination in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and to include such tests of the accounting records and such other auditing procedures as are necessary in the circumstances; |
|
|
C. |
render an opinion of the financial statements prepared at the close of the fiscal year; |
|
|
D. |
make such recommendations to the Board concerning its accounting records, procedures, and related activities as may appear necessary or desirable; |
|
|
E. |
perform such other related services as may be requested by the Board. |
