Parliamentary Authority

   
 

The parliamentary authority governing meetings of the Board of Education shall be Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised in all cases in which it is not inconsistent with statute, administrative code, or these bylaws, or the rules of order of this Board.

Quorum

   
 

Four (4) members present at a meeting shall constitute a quorum, and no business shall be conducted in the absence of a quorum.

   
 

Majority vote - Four (4) or more members present at a meeting and voting alike shall constitute a majority vote, and no business voted upon shall be enacted except by a favorable majority vote.

   
 

Two-Thirds (2/3s) Roll-Call Vote - Five (5) or more members present at a meeting and voting alike, by separate ballot or by individual voice vote, shall constitute a two-thirds (2/3s) roll-call vote, and no business which requires a two-thirds (2/3s) majority by law, the State Board of Education, or these policies for passage shall be enacted except by a favorable two-thirds (2/3s) roll-call vote.

Presiding Officer

   
 

The President shall preside at all meetings of the Board. In the absence, disability, or disqualification of the President, the Vice-President shall act instead; if neither person is available, any member shall be designated by a plurality of those present to preside. The act of any person so designated shall be legal and binding.
