2131 - EDUCATIONAL GOALS

Among the Educational goals of the East Muskingum School District are:

 A.to promote and develop a democratic society;

 B.to develop sensitivity to the rights, feelings, and endeavors of others;

 C.to develop ability in problem-solving and critical thinking;

 D.to develop self-discipline, responsibility, and integrity;

 E.to prepare students to live and work in a changing world;

 F.to recognize and correlate knowledge gained in the various disciplines;

 G.to develop study skills that emphasize basic competencies in verbal and written communications and in the use of source materials, taking into account the individual differences and learning styles of the students;

 H.to design curriculum and methods to serve students of different abilities, capacities, needs, and interests;

 I.to explore and new ways to improve learning;

 J.to motivate each learner to higher levels of achievement;

 K.to advance students in terms of their continuous growth;

 L.to encourage investigative procedures, exchange of ideas, planning, and evaluation as effective procedures in learning;

 M.to help students grow as persons and maintain individuality within the school community;

 N.to help them understand relationships with others;

 O.to promote and develop a sense of lifelong learning.
